Trent shook his head and fell back into his chair.

"Odd girl," he said simply. He then quirked his brows at Mace.

"So, you're helping out the thug, are you? Why?"

He pulled out his book and notebook for the class and pushed his backpack under his chair before turning his attention back to his glaring friend.

Chuckling, he turned his body toward the other.

"Don't say it isn't my business, Mace. You're a friend. I do worry about you, you know. I mean, you don't worry at all, so I kind of have to."

He looked over the other and averted his eyes.

Most of the school thought he was straight, and they had every right to think so. He'd never given them any reason not to.

He liked girls, so he wasn't gay. Not really.

Still, the only person he'd ever really liked... well, he was sitting in the seat right next to him.

And he was never going to tell.

Closet cases never got hurt.

Mika froe in the hall and shuddered.
"I'm so stupid!! I FORGOT MY BOOKS IN THERE...again!!Mika said angrily to herself.

She had to get them or else...she would face a F on her report card. Gathering up all her courage she walked back to the room.

Weird was definitely the word which came in mind as the girl rushed out of the classroom. Mace knew now he could do nothing else for her, but stand there and stare at the empty doorway with a dubious frown.
Shaking his head with a slight grumble, Mace sat back into his chair, rubbing at his eyes in total disbelief over what he just experienced.

"So you're helping the thug out, are you? Why?"

Mace immediately raised his gaze to the question, but eyed the blackboard before them other than anything else. His hand now on his mouth.
He was tempted to comment about it, even to say proudly that was no longer helping one of the most dangerous hoodlums in the entire school. But the introverted suggestion of keeping this separate from Lewis came to him, and so he decided to stick to it.

"That's none of your business, Lewis." Mace murmured from under his palm, before leaning back with an creaking protest from his seat. A hand combed through his messy blond locks that framed his high cheekbones, and fair skin, which would have attracted eyes to the dark beauty mark under his left eye, and more so would have brought out the color of summer rain in his gaze, if such eyes were not so obscured by his glasses.

A reply or protest was expected, but this one had caused Mace to look at Lewis differently, if only for a moment. The two stared at each other, for a time which to Mace seemed almost unreal, endless even. It was when Lewis turned to look elsewhere that Mace found it easier to speak.

"That... isn't true. I do worry." Mace told him, but quietly. What he worried about could not be put into words, but it was there, exact and obvious to him. There were two things Mace worried about the most, and one of those he was convinced he enjoyed. Both of those reason had everything to do with Lewis.
On the table Mace observed a set of books that didn't seem quite familiar to him, and then realized.

"She forgot her books..."

Almost as if on cue, the girl from before showed up at the doorway.

Still a deep red, Mika stepped in and walked to the 2 boys.
"J-j-j-j-j-julian? I've heard that name before..." Mika said quietly next to Mace.
She picked up her books, trying to be calm. Then it came to her. She dropped her books and turned to stare at Mace.

"Julian Mason! You're the son of a multi-millionaire!?" She said kinda loudly.
If this was truly the boy...what was he doing here?

Something dark came across Mace's features, and he was grateful no one else was in the classroom just then. Lewis had somehow already gotten this information out of him, of course. But he decided he better inform the girl before she made anymore of a fuss.

Trying to put on his best smile, yet one that still couldn't reach his eyes, Mace said, "Son? Biologically so, yes. But I'm adopted."
Stay positive, a voice inside told him, but he couldn't help the mass of thoughts rushing clear in his mind, like bile after an alcoholic has drank too much. They were thoughts he wished had been erased long ago.
"I don't call that man my "father", per se." Mace added simply, before quickly picking up her books and giving them to her once again. "Anyway, you should get to class. You might be late. Try not to trip, drop, or forget anything on your way there, alright?"

Trent sighed. He couldn't help but be a little annoyed when the girl returned. It wasn't fair though. I mean, she'd left her books after all. Still, to just blurt out information that was none of her business to begin with.

Hah. Being a hypocrite. Always were one.

And yet, Mace was his friend. He always had been protective of the other male. Nevermind the attraction that constantly nagged him no matter how hard he tried to forget.

He put on his most debonair smile for the girl. "Have a good day, okay."

He then looked at Mace and made a pouty sort of face.

"What did I tell you about using my last name. Seriously. I only call you Mace because you asked me to. So why not do me a favor and call me by my first name. We've been friends long enough to be on a first name basis, I would like to think."

His green eyes bet the cloudy blue and he found he couldn't look away. Still, he masked his face with practiced skill and smiled with ease.

Mace's attention returned to the one beside him, looking at Lewis with something of a quizzical, slightly disturbed expression. Mace felt his face getting hot, and blotches of pink faintly appeared on his cheeks.
It was that damnable expression. It wasn't right. Since when were men supposed to look so freaking cute when they pouted?

Still, for the sake of a good argument, Mace shook his head, sensing the twinge of a smile at the corners of his mouth. "Hah, you really think I'm going to stop so easy? I have a reason not to be called by that name, what's your excuse?"

Whether Mace was serious or not couldn't be said for sure, but there was the very delicate teasing quality to his words, one that could only be interpreted by the youth beside him, because he had been around so long.

The shrill cry of the warning bell to first class rang, and with finality, Mace concluded, "Besides, Lewis sounds much better."

Trent rolled his eyes but laughed. He was good natured and many things didn't bother him easily. So the fact that Mace wasn't going to stop using his last name didn't come as a surprise, and nor did Trent really care.

In truth, no matter how much he wouldn't admit it, most of the things he complained about were just so that Mace would talk to him.

"Only because it's you," he stated, and winked. He didn't think much on the wink--he winked all the time. Had he thought about the fact that he'd just winked at his best friend and what that would automatically say about him had anyone but Mace seen it, he would have blushed and the last two years of secrecy would all come tumbling down to shatter when it reached rock bottom.

Turning to sit straight in his chair, he turned his head and leaned over as their teacher walked into class--looking grumpy. Well, grumpier than normal.

"What crawled up his ass and died?" he whispered softly.

With Lewis leaning over as he did, Mace had a clear scent of him. Perhaps all too clear, so much that it suddenly became a distraction. He couldn't help but take it in, inhaling silently, but deeply.
The exact name of such a fragrance was well beyond him, and he could only describe it as the scent of the Sun kissing your face after sleeping late into the morning. It clung to you, warm and soothing, and Mace didn't want it to leave him.

Strongly, he felt a need for that perfume, to have it branded to his senses so it would never go away...
But then, with a sublime kick from his conscience, Mace came to with reality again, pretending to cough as he did so,chasing away such bliss before he had lost sanity completely.

"I'm sure you mean what crawled to his mouth and kicked the bucket. There's probably an uncanny similarity between his ass and face." Mace mumbled, with a fleeting grin that left his expression just as fast as it came, when their instructor gave them the eye, identical to the glare of a vulture.
It took Mace a while to say anything else, because he was making a willful effort not to burst out in laughter at such a face.

Trent didn't have such luck. The moment the teacher's back had turned he broke out into a fit of laughter. He'd never seen the old man turn around so fast--this just added to the laughter.

"Mr. Lewis! Get out of my class, and get out of my site. Don't come back until you can learn to control yourself."

Trent didn't care. He really didn't. Still snickering, he packed up his things and stood up. On a spur of the moment, he turned to his friend and smiled.

"Come with me, Mace?" he asked, knowing well that the old toad's eyes were on him. He ignored the man and kept his attention on his friend.

All thoughts of laughing along with Lewis had escaped him with the question. His expression changed to uncertainty, looking towards Mr. Vulture, then back at Lewis. He hadn't skipped a day of school in his entire life. But then, none of that mattered right at that moment.

It was more for the sake of rebelling against a sour-faced teacher's word, to be with someone more favorable. Hell, what did he care? He was already the top student in the entire class. He might as well give everyone else a head start in their academic scores.

With fitting decisiveness, Mace put slammed a fist on top of his text book, before taking both book and binder off the table, heading to the door with Lewis.

Glimpsing back once at his instructor, he said. "I'll be back later for my homework, sir pompous-ass." Before following his fellow classmate down the hallway, ignoring whatever belligerent demands and threats came from the teacher.

Mika walked down the hallway holding out her math paper in front of her face. A-? That wasn't so bad, I mean not perfect but not horrible. Her mind wandered back to her early adventure of the 2 boys. Blushing at the thought of her blurting out such knowledge she slapped herself.
"STUPID!

Not paying attention she crashed right into Mace and Trent.

May I join?... I haven't role played in a very long time nor did I role play much so please bear with me. Here goes:

Micah was slowly walking down the corridor, dragging his feet. He didn't bother taking his cap off when he entered school and his morning hair was sticking awkwardly from under it and hanging over his glasses. He'd been up most of the night working on some commissions and hadn't been able to wake up on time. He missed the first classes but didn't really bother about it. His priorities in high school went only as far as getting into his college of choice meant. He kept his grades above the average, didn't give anybody any trouble but didn't try hard in anything either.

Upon turning around the corner, he noticed Mika walking hurriedly, staring at a piece of paper. Her math test most likely. She seemed to be blushing and a few steps later she inadvertently crashed into two guys. Micah recognized them as two of the most popular guys in school. Not jock popular, but the type of guys every girl would have no problem fantasizing over.

Him and Mika went back a few years. It was during one of those hot summer breaks in which the heat kept people glued to their air conditioning units. He slept during the day and spent the nights drawing, playing or taking walks. One of those days, he was dragged out off the house by one of his friends, Devon, in an attempt to make him socialize more with the sun. They were supposed to meet up with some of Devon's friends and go swimming. The moment of introduction with one of the girls in the group was slightly awkward since their names were pronounced the same. She was a really cute and nice girl, albeit a bit of a klutz. She kept stumbling and blushing a lot at the beginning but as months passed, she started acting more naturally around him. Still, he developed the same protective attitude most of Mika's friends had towards her. They all ended up in the same high school and him and Mika even had a lot of classes together.

He walked behind her and helped her get up. "Honestly Mika, until they make transparent paper, you shouldn't walk and read at the same time. And tie your shoe laces." She looked at him a bit lost, suddenly turned toward the two guys, lost her balance in the process and fell towards them, dragging him too.

He ended up on top of the one people called Mace, straddling him. After staring at him with surprise for a few seconds, he got up, pulling Mika from between the two. "Sorry bout that. My bad!" He said as the two got up. As they stood, Micah noticed they were both at least one head taller than him.

(( *giggles* Welcome to the roleplay, Luci-cakes Very Happy ))

"Oh, look who it is." Mace commented, mildly astounded that the girl could read her paper and walk at the same time, while being totally oblivious to where she was going exactly. In this case, she had bumped straight in to Lewis and himself, almost comically, in fact. Her head landed on the side of his arm and Lewis' chest, before she stumbled back quite a bit, as if she had just realized she had been walking at all.

"Honestly..." He sighed, and just then another student came along, seemingly finishing what he had begun to say. Mace directed his attention to the newcomer, noting that the fellow peer was a boy, despite his shorter appearance. He wore glasses, just as Mace did, and an intriguing hat, which he could see was clearly meant to divert attention from unruly bed head. Questioningly, Mace looked at the male stranger. His azure sky gaze was focused and thoughtful. It became clear to him he had seen this boy somewhere before...

Before he honestly knew what the hell was happening, Mace glasses flew off, his head hitting the floor which a kind of sickening thud that he was sure for a moment something had snapped between his neck and head. With a heavy groan, flutter of his eyes, Mace raised up to his elbows, scratching the back of his blond head in the process to check that there were no damages. He grasped that fact the someone was on him just then, or otherwise on top of him, in possibly a very suggestive position...

It didn't take him long to adjust his eyesight the face in front him, after all, the glasses were only an object to devoid his identity from the general public. His eyes grew wide, the same saucer plate width as the stranger above him. But it wasn't so much the idea of another guy on top of him that awed Mace, as it was the sunlight shining from the hallway window, and hitting the boy's ivory skin, the light making him appear almost an ethereal, translucent, harmonious state of something other than man. In that moment, there was only one word Julian Mason could think of to describe.

It was simply Beautiful...

The moment was gone, the boy had stood, and Mace was left, sitting in the middle of the floor like a idiot. For a minute, he sat there and said nothing, reflecting on what his sight had depicted just then. Why, in the oddest of instances, would he think of such a thing?
Considering no feasible answer, Mace shook off underlying inquests and got to his knees (guessing by now that once again, it was the girl's clumsy antics which had caused such a riot). Picking up his glasses, he regarded the stranger's hat laying just beside, and reached for it also.
Ignoring the boy's apology completely, Mace held out the maverick's hat, eying him with a bemused sort of frown. "What are your names?" He asked, abruptly.

(( Can we stick with full names, plz? Since Mace is the 'I'll-call-you-by-your-surname-whenever-I-want, blah-di-blah-blah' type~ :B ))

Trent looked to where his friend had pointed out and made a face as the girl walked right into them. He had been about to regard the girl but then a younger male had arrived on the scene.

He wasn't sure what exactly had happened, but somehow the new male had caused his friend to fall to the floor and had fallen ontop of him...

He growled, the hands at his side clenching as his eyes narrowed at the other.

He was jealous... damnit he was jealous... and the look in his friends eyes...

It hurt.

A lot.

He bit his lip hard and crossed his arms, glaring at the other male and feeling very immature...

He didn't care though. It felt good.

"Why aren't you two in class?" he asked the same time that Mace had asked for their names.
